This weekend promises to be a busy one!  First ever Maverick home football game-so much to do to get ready and this:

School starts tomorrow and I am both excited and sad.  Sad becasue summer break has come to an end, but excited for a new school year.  I pray that I will be a blessing in the lives of my very young students.

Today I am grateful for:

•  the sound of Jackson's foam baseball bouncing against my wall
•  that he asked me to watch Indiana Jones with him and when I sat down in the recliner, he said, "You aren't going to sit by me Mom?"
• Duke's sweet smelling puppy breath
• the last few lazy days of summer break

Since I am a member of the Creative Soup Creative Team, I will have opportunies over the next couple of months to post challenges etc. on a blog to link back to the Creative Soup site. Since I didn't have a blog, I thought that this was a perfect opportunity to give blogging a try.

At the beginning of my summer break, I watched Dr. Brene Brown on a video she recorded for Paper Coterie. In the video she talked about connection, belonging and being enough. Dr. Brown made the following statement in her video. "Joy is born from ordinary moments." I loved that quote, wrote it down and have been pondering that statement this summer. Dr. Brown gives the following three tips for being a "whole-hearted" person who has joy and purpose and meaning.

• practice gratitude
• use creativity
• spend time playing

I am hoping that this blog will allow me to document those areas of my life.
